Trustee with Financial Experience
Cork Counselling Services is a registered charity dedicated to improving mental health and emotional well-being through high-quality counselling services and accredited counsellor training. We provide affordable counselling to individuals in need, and we offer an Honours Degree programme to train the next generation of professional counsellors.
A vacancy has arisen for a Trustee with finance or accounting experience who will bring specialist expertise to strengthen the organisation's financial governance.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking an individual who can bring one or more of the following:
- Provide financial insight and guidance on cash flow, budgets, financial planning and risk management ensuring our resources are well-managed.
- Assist with the review and monitoring of the organisation’s financial policies, procedures and controls.
- Strategic thinking and willingness to actively contribute to Board discussions and decisions.
- An interest in mental health, counselling, education and community wellbeing.
You don’t need previous Board experience – we value fresh perspectives and are happy to support your development as a Trustee.
Time Commitment
There are approximately nine Board meetings each year lasting around two hours (hybrid/remote options available), with occasional additional input between meetings depending on your availability and interests.
