About Wicklow Pride CLG
Wicklow Pride CLG is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organisation working to promote inclusion, visibility, equality and the celebration of LGBTQIA+ people across County Wicklow.
We organise an annual Pride festival and deliver year-round community and advocacy activities, working closely with local partners, volunteers and supporters across the county.
As the organisation continues to grow, we are now seeking a Treasurer to join our Board and help strengthen our financial governance and long-term sustainability.
The Board is currently developing Wicklow Pride’s Strategic Plan for 2026–2029 and is ambitious about the charity’s future — making this an exciting and timely opportunity to join us and help shape the next phase of our development.
The Role
This is a voluntary, non-executive Board role.
The Treasurer plays a key role in ensuring Wicklow Pride’s finances are well managed, transparent and aligned with best practice for community and charity organisations.
The role combines light, practical financial administration with oversight and governance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Governance

Provide assurance to the Board on the organisation’s financial position

Prepare, present and explain Income & Expenditure (I&E) reports at Board meetings

Support budgeting, cashflow awareness and basic financial planning

Identify and highlight financial risks, pressures or opportunities to the Board
Bookkeeping & Systems (Light Touch)

Maintain basic bookkeeping using Xero, including:

Coding income and expenditure (we have minimal charts of account)

Reconciling bank transactions

Ensure financial records are accurate and kept up to date

This role does not involve high-volume or complex bookkeeping
External Accountant Liaison

Act as the main Board contact with the organisation’s external accountants

Support the preparation and review of annual accounts

Assist the Board in understanding the accounts prior to approval
Board & Organisational Support

Contribute as a full Board member to strategy, planning and governance

Support compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
Training in charity governance and the responsibilities of a Board member will be provided. The Board is committed to keeping the Treasurer role proportionate, realistic and well-supported.
