As a young and growing organisation, we are looking to expand our board of directors and are excited to announce that we are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join us in the vital role of Volunteer Treasurer.

Role Description: Treasurer
The Treasurer is a senior member of the board responsible for managing the financial health of Gender Rebels CLG, ensuring transparency, accountability, and the effective use of our resources. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission through diligent financial oversight and strategic planning.
Time Commitment: Approximately 8 hours per month (voluntary).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the organisation's budgets in alignment with our strategic goals.
- Manage financial transactions and maintain accurate, clear records of all income and expenditure.
- Prepare and present regular financial reports for board meetings to ensure all members are informed of our financial standing.
- Ensure the organisation complies with all governance policies, financial regulations, and legal requirements for a Company Limited by Guarantee.
- Collaborate with the Chairperson and other committee members on securing funding, including preparing grant applications and monitoring spending.
- Work with external accountants for financial reviews or audits as needed.
- Foster financial literacy within the board to support informed decision-making.
What We’re Looking For: Skills & Experience
We are seeking a candidate with demonstrable experience in finance and a passion for supporting the LGBTQIA+ community.
Essential:

Proven experience in a financial role (e.g., accounting, bookkeeping, financial management, or a previous treasurer role).

A strong understanding of financial principles and best practices, particularly within the non-profit or charity sector.

Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.

The ability to explain financial information clearly and concisely.
- A genuine commitment to Gender Rebels' mission and values of respect, inclusivity, education, empowerment, and community.
Desirable:
- Experience with Irish non-profit governance and the Companies Act 2014.
- Previous experience in securing funding or grant applications.
- Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities facing the transgender community in Ireland.
- Experience using ZOHO Books
What We Offer
