Legal & Compliance (Board Member)
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented individual to join our Board with expertise in legal and compliance, supporting our mission of empowering adults with intellectual disabilities into meaningful, supported paid employment.
Through our Rising Together training programmes, we equip participants with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive in today’s workplace.
As a Board Member with legal and compliance expertise, you will play a key role in ensuring the organisation operates in line with legal, regulatory, and governance requirements. You will provide guidance on risk, compliance, and best practice, supporting the Board in making informed and responsible decisions.
This is a voluntary role and an opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising the Board on legal and regulatory requirements
- Supporting strong governance and compliance practices
- Identifying and managing legal and organisational risks
- Reviewing policies, procedures, and contracts where appropriate
- Ensuring compliance with social enterprise and corporate governance standards
- Contributing to overall strategy and Board decision-making
We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in law, compliance, risk, or governance. Experience in the social enterprise sector is desirable.
