IT Systems Board Member

Wicklow Dementia Support is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive individual to join our Board of Directors as a voluntary board member responsible for IT systems and digital infrastructure. In this role, you will help ensure that WDS’s technology supports the smooth running of our organisation and enhances our ability to serve people living with dementia and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight and guidance on the management and development of WDS’s IT systems.
• Support and maintain Google Workspace accounts, ensuring secure and efficient use by staff 
• Oversee the maintenance and updating of the WDS website (WordPress), liaising with external providers where necessary.
• Advise on digital tools and systems that can improve communication, collaboration, and data management.
• Work closely with other board members to align IT strategy with WDS’s overall goals.
• Provide occasional hands-on technical support or troubleshooting as needed.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience with Google Workspace administration, WordPress management, or general IT support.
• An understanding of cybersecurity and data protection principles.
• Practical problem-solving skills with a willingness to take a hands-on approach when required.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a volunteer board.
• Commitment of approximately 5 hours per month, including attendance at 10 online board meetings and 2 in-person strategy sessions per year.
• Based in Ireland and within 45-60 mins of County Wicklow.
