Finance Director (Volunteer Role)

The Haven Hub CLG is a registered charity providing peer support, wellness courses and suicide  prevention. We currently have 3 branches that operate late-night drop-in centres in Limerick, Ennis and Mitchelstown.

The Haven Hub CLG are expanding our team and would like to recruit a new board member for the role of Finance Director.

The ideal candidate will either be a qualified/part-qualified accountant with a passion for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention or have similar previous relevant experience

The requested commitment is approximately 3 hours per week. Directors are asked to stay on the board for a minimum of 12 months.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

  • Overview of the finance admin team ensuring the book-keeping records of income and expenditure are up to date
  • Overview of payment approval systems for invoices and expenses 
  • Preparation and presentation of accounts for board meetings 
  • Liaise with the external accountant regarding the accounts as required before financial year end
  • Overview of petty cash for all branches 
  • Search for potential funding and grant opportunities
  • Prepare all Funding Applications and ensure we comply with requirements once paid
  • Investigate potential sponsorship opportunities & deal with all Corporate Fundraising Requests
  • Attend fundraising events or the presentation of cheques where appropriate
  • Liaise with the social media team to thank donors for donations received
  • Signatory on the Haven Hub bank account
  • Ensure we are compliant with financial regulations with the charity regulator
  • Update and review the financial policies
  • To attend monthly director meetings and vote on director decisions
