Finance, Audit & Risk Committee - 1 member
The Role:
Peter McVerry Trust invites applications from an experienced financial professional to serve on its Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, which operates under delegated authority from the Board. Committee members play a key role in providing independent assurance, expert insight and constructive challenge, helping the Board uphold high standards of financial governance and risk management across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support robust financial governance.
- Provide oversight of the internal audit function.
- Monitor the effectiveness of PMVT’s risk management arrangements
- Ensure accurate, transparent and timely reporting.
Skills and Experience Required:
- A highly experienced practitioner in the area of Finance, Audit & Risk.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in the Approved Housing Body and/or charity sector although not essential
- Be passionate about the charity’s values and work.
- Commitment to PMVT Vision, Mission and Values.
- Leadership and strategic vision.
- Previous committee experience would be an advantage.
Commitment:
- The Finance, Audit & Risk Committee convenes online, and meets approximately five times per year, with occasional additional meetings as required.
- Meetings take place at 18:00 and last for 1.5 hours.
- Preparation and review of papers in advance of meetings.
- Participation in email discussions between meetings can take place.
- Occasional ad-hoc input as required.
- This is a voluntary role; reasonable expenses may be reimbursed where applicable.
