About Wicklow Pride CLG
Wicklow Pride CLG is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organisation working to promote inclusion, visibility, equality, and the celebration of LGBTQIA+ people across County Wicklow.
We organise an annual Pride festival and deliver year-round community and advocacy activities, working closely with local partners, volunteers, and supporters across the county.
As the organisation continues to grow, we are now seeking Directors to join our Board and help strengthen our governance, community impact, and long-term sustainability. Within this recruitment drive, there is also the potential opportunity for an interested and experienced candidate to step into the role of Chair of the Organisation.
The Board hs developed Wicklow Pride’s Strategic Plan for 2026–2029 and is ambitious about the charity’s future - making this an exciting and timely opportunity to join us and help shape the next phase of our development.

The Role
This is a voluntary, non-executive Board role.
Directors play a vital role in ensuring Wicklow Pride is well-governed, transparent, and aligned with best practices for community and charity organisations. The role involves guiding the strategic direction of the charity, acting as an ambassador for the community, and supporting our volunteer teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight & Governance
- Contribute as a full Board member to strategy, planning, and organisational development.
- Support the rollout and execution of the 2026–2029 Strategic Plan.
- Ensure the organisation complies with relevant legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
- Attend and actively participate in monthly Board meetings (online).
Advocacy & Community Engagement
- Act as a positive ambassador and representative for Wicklow Pride CLG in the local community.
- Help foster and maintain relationships with local partners, sponsors, and community groups.
- Advocate for the needs, visibility, and rights of LGBTQIA+ people in County Wicklow.
Organisational Support
- Provide guidance and oversight for planning committee of the annual Pride festival and year-round activities.
- Support, motivate, and collaborate with our dedicated teams of volunteers.
- Contribute your unique skills (e.g., HR, marketing, legal, event management, or community work) to benefit the organisation's operations.
Leadership (Potential Chair Role)
- For candidates interested in the Chair position, additional responsibilities would include leading Board meetings, acting as a primary spokesperson for the charity, and providing overarching leadership to ensure the Board functions effectively and cohesively.
Training and Support
Training in charity governance and the responsibilities of a Board member will be provided. The Board is committed to ensuring that all Director roles are well-supported, collaborative, and rewarding.
