Development Director

Development Director (Voluntary)

The Development Director leads the organisation's income generation and long-term sustainability, with overall responsibility for five areas:

• Corporate: Builds and manages partnerships with businesses, including sponsorship, employee engagement and shared-value initiatives.
• Grants and Donations: Oversees applications to trusts, foundations and statutory funders, and nurtures individual and major donor giving.
• Fundraising: Directs campaigns and events, community and public appeals, and supporter engagement to grow unrestricted income.

Strategic focus: The Director sets the income generation strategy and targets, balances short-term delivery with long-term growth, reduces reliance on any single funding source, and identifies new opportunities. They lead and develop a small, high-performing team, manage budgets, and report regularly to the board on performance, pipeline and risk.
