General duties of a Charity Trustee/Director
- Comply with the Charity’s governing document.
- Ensuring charity is complying with its charitable purpose for the public benefit,
- Acting in the best interest of the charity
- Act with Reasonable Care and Skill
- Manage the assets of your charity.
The Role:
Community Wetland Forum Clg Ltd are seeking a trustee with a background in the Community Development /Adult Education sectors. The Board are particularly interested in individuals with recent and relevant experience in/or knowledge of community-based organisations with education , conservation , Climate Change or Rural Development Programs in Ireland and or EU .
NB We are seeking a balanced Gender/Diversity Mix on our board .
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Providing input to the strategic direction of the organisation and contributing with insight/experience of strategy formulation in the community and voluntary/sector.
- Policy formation and implementation and oversight as required.
Optional:
Essential Skills/Qualities required for these roles:
- A deep appreciation and knowledge of the Community Development & Voluntary sector
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience operating at a senior level
- An understanding of, and commitment to our mission and values
- Commitment to the highest levels of corporate governance
- Board Meetings:
- There will be 5-6 board meetings and 4-6 sub-committee meetings a year.
- Meetings are held a mix of hybrid and venue and times to suit directors , some board training is planned on regular basis .
