Community Representative Required for Stepaside Educate Together National School Board of Management
Stepaside Educate Together National School is seeking a Community Representative to join our Board of Management from September 2026.
We are a large, diverse primary school operating under the patronage of Educate Together, and we would love to hear from someone who is interested in contributing their skills, experience and perspective to the governance and continued development of our school.
This is a voluntary role and would be for the remainder of the current Board of Management term, which concludes at the end of November 2027.
About the Role:
The Board of Management plays an important role in supporting the effective management and development of the school. We are looking for someone who can consider matters objectively, contribute constructively to discussions and decision-making, and always keep the best interests of the school and its pupils at the heart of their contribution.
We welcome expressions of interest from people from all professional and community backgrounds. Experience or expertise in any of the following areas would be particularly valuable, although it is not essential:
- Legal or governance
- Child welfare, safeguarding or education
- Finance or accounting
- Human resources
- Organisational planning or project management
- Buildings, facilities or property management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is collaborative, open-minded, reliable and interested in making a positive contribution to our school community.
Time Commitment
Board meetings are generally held in the school on Tuesday afternoons at 4.00pm, approximately once every 4 to 6 weeks, and usually last around two hours.
