Programmes Oversight Committee (POC) membership criteria

1. Knowledge

• General understanding of and sympathy towards the Missionary Approach to Development

• Management of development or emergency responses

• Monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning

• Results based management. • Knowledge of grant management systems.

2. Skills • Project Management skills

• Technical skills in budget management

• Critical and analytical skills.

3. Experience

• Lived experience of the Missionary Approach to Development

• Living and working experience in the Global South

• Experience of working in Misean Cara priority sectors, overseas

• Appropriate level of cultural competence.

Expectation of all committee members 

A Committee member must be someone who: 

• can commit the time to the role 

• shares Misean Cara’s values and supports its mission and vision 

• possess the knowledge, skills and experience as outlined above

Time commitments: 

• Four meetings annually (February, April, July and November). 

• Participation in email discussions between meetings on an exceptional basis.
