We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the role of Chairperson of our Human Rights Committee.
About the Role
The Chairperson will lead a dedicated committee responsible for promoting and safeguarding the human rights of the people we support. This is a vital governance role, helping ensure our services and practices align with best practices in rights-based support and advocacy.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a Chairperson who demonstrates:
- A strong commitment to human rights, equity, and social justice
- Lived experience of disability, family members, or supporters of individuals with disabilities
- Experience in leadership or governance, preferably in the disability, health, or community services sectors
- Compassion, integrity, and an inclusive approach to decision-making
- Knowledge of human rights legislation and advocacy principles
- Relevant education or professional background in areas such as law, social work, disability support, health, or human services (desirable but not essential)
This is a volunteer position, offering a meaningful opportunity to contribute to real change and uphold the rights of a vulnerable population.
