Chairperson

The Chairperson leads the Board of Management, ensuring strong governance, accountability, and strategic direction for the childcare service. They support the organisation in delivering high-quality, compliant, and sustainable early years care in line with its not-for-profit ethos.

  • Provide leadership to the Board and ensure it operates effectively.
  • Ensure the organisation complies with all legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. childcare regulations, charity law, employment law).
  • Ensure meetings are productive, decisions are clear, and actions are followed up.
  • Support and develop board members, encouraging active participation.
  • Manage conflicts of interest and ensure transparency.
  • Ensure the Board monitors budgets, funding, and financial sustainability.
  • Support financial accountability and transparency.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills
  • Good understanding of governance (or willingness to learn)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attendance at regular board meetings (4 per year) meet in person
