Are you a strong leader with a passion for making a difference? The Christine Buckley Centre is seeking an experienced and committed Chairperson to lead our Board and help guide the strategic direction of our work supporting Survivors of institutions.

About the Role:
As Chairperson, you will provide clear leadership to the Board of Directors, ensuring the organisation is governed effectively and continues to thrive. You will work closely with the Centre Manager and fellow Board members to shape strategy, support good governance, and ensure the Centre remains true to its mission of healing, education, and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Board in fulfilling its governance and oversight duties.
  • Guide and support the development of the Centre’s strategic direction.
  • Ensure the Board operates efficiently and collaboratively, encouraging open dialogue and informed decision-making.
  • Provide support to the Centre Manager and act as a sounding board on strategic and operational matters.
  • Represent the Centre where appropriate and act as an ambassador for its mission.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven leadership experience, ideally at Board or senior management level.
  • A strong understanding of strategic planning and organisational development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and motivate others.
  • A commitment to the values and mission of the Christine Buckley Centre.
  • Experience in the community, education, social care, advocacy, or related sectors is welcome but not essential.

Board Meetings

The board meets ten times a year at our centre in Dundrum, conveniently located next to the Luas Line.
