Board Member: Strategic Partnerships
Role Purpose
We are seeking a Board Member with charity partnerships expertise to support the organisation in achieving sustainable growth. This individual will provide strategic guidance to strengthen our charity.
Board Members play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring economic sustainability, and maintaining strong governance. Board members act collectively in the best interests of the organisation, contributing their expertise while supporting and constructively challenging the executive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on and support the development of a sustainable future strategy
- Provide expertise on engagement, grants, and diversified partnerships
- Leverage networks to identify opportunities and partnerships
- Support oversight of fundraising performance and targets
- Act as an ambassador for the organisation with potential stakeholders
Person Specification
- Proven experience in fundraising (e.g. philanthropy, grants, corporate partnerships)
- Strong strategic thinking and financial awareness
- Ability to leverage networks to benefit organisational growth
- Experience in non-profit or social impact sectors
- Knowledge of Irish or UK funding landscapes
- Previous board-level or governance experience
Commitment
- Attend Board meetings (typically 4–6 per year)
- Board Members are appointed for an initial term of three years
- Participate in occasional strategy sessions or subcommittees (Governance & Risk, Strategy & Purpose and Finance)
