Board member interested in contributing to strategic direction

Seeking new members to join our Voluntary Board of Directors, following upcoming retirements at our AGM in June. The work of the Board in this busy non-profit is to support effective governance and strategic direction of the organisation. Laois Partnership Company aims to promote social inclusion, rural and community development and local economic growth across Co Laois.

The Board member will act in the best interests of the company and the communities it services, providing oversight, guidance and accountability. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Contribute to setting and reviewing the organisation’s vision, strategy, and policies
• Ensure strong governance, legal compliance, and financial oversight
• Participate in Board and committee meetings and decision-making
• Support senior management while maintaining appropriate oversight
• Uphold the organisation’s values, mission, and statutory obligations
• Act as an ambassador for the organisation within the community and sector

Time Commitment:
Attendance at scheduled Board meetings (typically 10 per year), occasional committee work, and strategic planning sessions.
