Board Member (Director/Trustee)

NOVAS currently has three vacancies on its Board of Directors (Charity Trustees). Applications are sought from interested parties. Applications will be assessed as received until all vacancies are filled. Selection will be based on finding the most suitably matched applicant based on the following criteria:

- Housing & Property: Experience of Social Housing, property development or consturction, housing management or property funding. 

- Legal: Experience or knowledge in the area of Irish Law including property or employer legislation.

- Finance: Experience or knowledge of accounting, auditing, ecomomics or other financial expertise.

The NOVAS Board meets six times a year on average, preferably in-person in Limerick with some facility for occasional online participation. In addition Board members are asked to participate in at least one Sub Committee (Audit & Finance, Housing & Tenants, Quality Client Services, Governance, and Advocacy, Communications & Fundraising). Sub Committees meet on average four times a year. 

NOVAS is a not-for-profit registered charity (Registered Charity No. 20041533, CHY 13390), Company Limited by Guarantee (Company Reg. No. 330018 and Approved Housing Body (AHB-02763) serving approximately 6,000 clients and tenants a year across 6 counties with approximately 300 employees and an annual income of approximately €18 million. NOVAS offers services to those at risk of or experiencing homelessness through homelessness prevention, community engagement, emergency homeless accommodation, long term services including for long term homeless residents with physical and intellectual challenges as well as social housing and recovery work.
