Canal Communities Regional Youth Service is recruiting new Board members

We are seeking committed people who share our passion for supporting young people and strengthening communities. New Board members will help provide strategic direction, good governance and oversight as the organisation continues its work across the Canal Communities area.

Skills and Experience

We particularly welcome applicants with experience in areas such as:

  • Governance and strategic planning
  • Finance, accounting or fundraising
  • Human resources and organisational development
  • Youth work, community development or education
  • Communications, marketing or public relations
  • Legal, compliance or risk management

Previous Board experience is helpful but not essential. We value diverse perspectives and encourage applications from people with different professional, community and lived experiences.

Time Commitment

Board members are expected to make a meaningful commitment to the role, including:

  • 80% attendance at Board meetings
  • 7 Board meetings per year
  • Approximately 3 hours of work between meetings, including preparation, follow-up and agreed Board-related tasks

This is a voluntary governance role and an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to young people and local communities.
