Board Members

The Boyne Rivers Trust was set up in October 2021 as a not-for-profit organisation. The vision of the Trust is for a Thriving River Catchment, valued and protected by its communities. The aim of the trust is to protect, enhance and restore the water bodies of the Boyne catchment through community-led projects and activities.

Currently our work focusses on Riparian Woodland restoration, growing native Irish Trees, engaging landowners, providing advice to farmers on water-friendly farming, removing invasive plant species along riverbanks, river clean-ups, and community engagement.

We are an active member of the Rivers Trusts movement in Ireland. There are 20 Rivers Trusts working to protect the rivers of the island of Ireland. We collaborate on relevant issues and learn from one another through site visits, webinars, training and sharing experiences. We believe that working collaboratively can make a real difference to the rivers and waterbodies of Ireland.

We are also a member of the newly formed Boyne Catchment Community Forum (CCF). This forum, convened by LAWPRO, is a collaboration of individuals, community groups, and stakeholders, with the aim to enhance public participation in water governance. The Boyne CCF is one of five pilot catchment fora across Ireland.
