Board Directors

The Organisation:
Westgate Foundation is a community voluntary organisation and registered charity. Our mission is to support older people to live well at home and in their own community. Our purpose is to provide an integrated range of community based services to support older people to continue to live at home.
 

The Role:
Westgate Foundation is currently seeking to recruit two voluntary Board Directors to play a meaningful role in supporting the organisation’s mission and shaping its future direction.
 

Desired Skills and Experience:
The Board welcomes candidates with a range of experience and skills, and are particularly interested in individuals with relevant experience in:

• HR/People Management
• Business Development
   

Desired Qualities:

• Interest in the provision and development of community based services for older people
• A deep appreciation and knowledge of the Not-For-Profit sector
• An understanding of and commitment to our mission and values
• Commitment to highest levels of corporate governance
   

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing input to the strategic direction of the organisation and contributing with insight, oversight, and experience at board meetings and any additional commitments
• Policy development and implementation as required
• Governance oversight
   

Board Meetings:
There will be 6 board meetings and 4 sub-committee meetings a year. Meetings are held in Ballincollig, Cork.
