Board Director with Finance experience

Beam Services is a Section 39 organisation that provides Day, Respite & Residential services to Adults with an Intellectual Disability & Autism. We have been in existence since 2000. We are HSE funded. We support members from Carlow, Kilkenny & Wexford.  

Beam Services are seeking an individual with proven knowledge & experience in financial management &/or accountancy.

Responsibilities include the following:

• The Director must be a qualified accountant (ACA or CIMA qualified) with at least 5 years’ experience at senior management level.
• Have good insight into Financial polices & controls and strive to ensure continuous improvement & recommendations.
• To be a part of the oversight process managing compliance & risk in the organisation.
• As Director with Finance experience, you may be appointed to the Finance Sub-committee of the organisation, whose role is to provide oversight on the financial controls & procedures in place, ensuring we are in line with best practise.
• Provide oversight on budgets, financial statements and future financial planning in the organisation.
• Provide oversight on the financial performance & annual reporting in the organisation.
• All the above responsibilities as well as the regular Board Director responsibilities.

• The Finance Sub-committee meet on a quarterly basis.
• The Board meets every 6-8 weeks across the year.
• The overall committee structure has a combined maximum of 12 meetings per annum.
• As a Board we prefer to meet on a face-to-face basis. The meetings take place in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow.
