Established in 2003, My Legacy is a non-profit umbrella organisation of almost 60 Irish charities. As a group of national charitable organisations working together, we aim to raise public awareness of the great importance of making a will generally and how, after family and friends have been looked after, a legacy is a way to continue to support a favourite cause into the future.
We do this through a range of activities; our annual national and regional media campaign every Autumn, Best Will Week; on-going research and training in line with international best practice; working with other stakeholders such as legal and financial planning professions, Government, our members and the wider charitable sector.
My Legacy is primarily managed by a board of directors comprising voluntary representatives from our member organisations.
My Legacy's group vision is to create social change; to address the low level of will making in Ireland at every life stage and to make charitable bequests the norm in Ireland and a widely recognised and respected way of supporting a charity.
My Legacy's main programme is our annual national public awareness campaign, Best Will Week, which runs every Autumn.
