MHR has over seventy member organisations, comprising the majority of the national mental health organisations in Ireland and a number of other charities whose clients are affected by mental health difficulties. Governing members can participate in the Board structures of Mental Health Reform and have the right to vote at Annual General Meetings, associate members do not enjoy these voting rights.

MHR activities support our strategic goals. These activities include conducting original, empirical and desk research, engaging in mental health service innovation through pilot projects and representing our membership.

The vision of Mental Health Reform is of an Ireland where people experiencing mental health difficulties can recover their well-being and live a full life in their community.

Our aim is to be the unifying voice that drives progressive reform of mental health supports in Ireland.

Our core values are a set of fundamental principles which we commit to applying in all our work and relationships. We will hold true to our principles while working towards pragmatic steps forward in reform of the mental health system.
