Childhood Cancer Foundation is a parent led voluntary charity set up by parents of children who are past or present patients of St Johns Paediatric Cancer Ward at Our Lady's Children's Hospital Crumlin. Childhood Cancer Foundation is a member of Childhood Cancer International and runs the LIGHT IT UP GOLD Campaign each September as part of International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Working closely with the hospital, we fund 3 projects on St John's Ward, Play Services (Day Unit), Beads of Courage, supportive care programme, complementary therapy research project with the hospital and UCD School of Nursing. We are funding improvements to isolation room facilities at Shared Care hospitals around Ireland where children are hospitalized for their cancer related care. We advocate in collaboration with other organisations for improvements in supports and services for children with cancer and their families. Working with Irish Cancer Society on Parent Peer Support Network.
