Ballyfermot Star provide non-judgemental support, guidance and education to drug users, their families, and the community, enabling them to cope with and overcome the effects of drug use in their everyday lives. Drug use affects not just the drug user but the whole family. We recognise how drug use affects entire families and offer support to loved ones and parents whose children take drugs as well as supporting drug users to make the journey to recovery.
Ballyfermot Star are seeking a Trustee with a broad marketing and/or business development background. If you have experience in this area and want to play a key role in supporting drug users and their families, we are keen to hear from you. Responsibilities will include the following.
General duties of Charity Trustee:
•Provide appropriate governance and oversight of the organisation and its activities
•Ensure the organisation adheres to its mission, vision, and strategic goals
•Ensure the charity is fulfilling its charitable purpose in line with its Constitution, and in realising its strategic goals
•Act independently and with the organisation’s best interests in mind
•Ensure appropriate systems and processes are in place to safeguard the management of the Charity's’s assets
•Prepare for and attendance at board and sub-committee meetings
Duties specific to the Marketing/Business Development role:
•Provide the Board with broad marketing and business development expertise on matters under consideration, or as they arise
•Act as a sounding board to the senior management of the organisation in relation to marketing, business development and/or innovation matters
•Provide appropriative oversight to the development and implementation of an integrated marketing and business development plan under our new strategy
•A current or former professional who has significant experience working with organisations at a senior level in the marketing/technology/digital marketing sectors
•Knowledge of the charity and fundraising landscape in Ireland would be an advantage
•Experience with organisational transformation and innovation would be an advantage
The Board meet monthly and currently meetings are held online. The appointed candidate will also be asked to join a committee.
