Trustee with Horticultural Experience

Festina Lente is at an exciting time of its development as it prepares to relocate its current services to a state-of-the-art center in Kilpeddar, Co Wicklow by the year 2025/6.  With a new site bought and full planning permission granted, it is expected that the building for the new development will commence in August 2024.  A key part of the plans will be the development of green spaces which will be ‘good for people, good for horses and good for the land’.  Festina Lente Enterprises is seeking to appoint a Director to its Board to assist with the development and implementation of environmentally sustainable strategies for all green spaces within the new site in Kilpeddar, Co Wicklow.

The Board of Directors meet 11 times each year.  The time commitment is attendance at meetings in addition to approximately 6 hours each month.  We are seeking to appoint somebody who has expertise in the area of environmentally sustainable strategies and who ideally will have a deep passion and understanding of the value of nature based therapeutic interventions to promote the physical, psychosocial and/or mental wellbeing for people affected by socio economic disadvantage and /or disabilities through the medium of both horses and horticulture.
