An Taisce - The National Trust for Ireland is looking to recruit a Board member to fulfil the role of Treasurer.
Description of Role:
The Board member, acting as Treasurer, will have strategic responsibility for the financial oversight of An Taisce, liaising with The CEO and the managers of the respective units of the organisation.
S/he will also play an active part on An Taisce’s Board which provides direction and governance and is answerable to a nationwide Council. Board members are required to vote on and implement resolutions, sharing responsibility for the prudent fiscal management of the organisation.
Extensive experience in accounting and or / auditing at a senior level with an ACA / FCA qualification would be highly desirable. Ideally you will have experience in the NGO / Corporate space with exposure to Government Funding in particular. Familiarity with the Governance Code of the Charities Regulator and exposure to SORP accounting principles would be very welcome.
Board Terms and Participation:
Attendance is required at Board meetings which take place every month with Committee meetings taking place at least every two months.
