AMACH! LGBTI+ Galway wishes to recruit a Treasurer to be a member of their Board of Directors.

AMACH! LGBTI+ Galway is a community development organisation which aims to reflect equally the diversity within the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community by encouraging positive participation from the community. AMACH! LGBTI+ Galway aims to promote inclusion, protect rights and improve quality of life and wellbeing for members of the LGBTI+ community in Galway, enabling them to participate fully in Ireland's social, economic, cultural, and political life.

Job Description

We are looking for a Non-Executive Director with Treasurer Responsibility to join as a member of the Board of Directors. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that the organisation is financially sound, and that financial risk is managed.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and overseeing the organisation’s financial strategy, ensuring it is aligned with the organisation’s mission and goals.
• Monitoring financial performance, identifying areas of risk and opportunity, and making recommendations to the Board
• Reviewing financial policies and procedures and making any necessary updates
• Ensuring the organisation is compliant with relevant financial regulations and legislation.
• Working with the executive team to ensure financial resources are being used effectively and efficiently.
• Evaluating and managing financial risks.
• Participating in Board and/or committee meetings, providing financial advice as appropriate.

Essential/Desired Skills/Qualities required for these roles:

• A deep appreciation and knowledge of the Not-For-Profit sector
• An understanding of and commitment to our mission and values
• Commitment to highest levels of corporate governance 
• Experience in finance and accountancy essential.
