Smile School Completion Programme CLG is looking to recruit a Voluntary Board member with financial expertise.
Smile (St Munchin’s and Moyross Initiative for Learning and Education) is a Tusla funded Initiative and is one of the 122 School Completion Programmes nationally.
The project is based in Thomond Community College, Limerick and serves four schools in the community; Corpus Christi National School, Thomond Primary School, Salesian’s Primary School and Thomond Community College totalling a pupil reach of 1,500 from the Northside of Limerick City.
The aim of SCP is to retain a young person to completion of the leaving certificate, equivalent qualification or suitable level of educational attainment which enables them to transition into further education, training or employment.
The Board is looking to recruit a Voluntary Board member with a financial background, an excellent knowledge of Governance and an understanding of the Community and Voluntary sector who will support the board with its legal, regulatory and accountability requirements. It is envisaged this Board member will assist in the development and implementation of financial controls and the reviewing of the organisation financial policies.
There are currently nine members of the Board overseeing an organisation of four core staff.
The Board meets five times a year, which includes a review meeting. Meeting times are during the working day. The sub committees meet in between board meetings.
