Merchants Quay Ireland (MQI) is the largest non-profit drug service provider in
Ireland, well established and with a proven track record in providing residential and non-residential drug and alcohol treatment.

A national voluntary organisation founded by the Franciscans in 1969, MQI provides a range of care and treatment services for homeless men and women and for those use drugs.

MQI’s mission is to provide the steppingstones for every point of a person’s journey out of homelessness and addiction, and toward a drug free life, from a cup of tea and a hot meal, to needle exchange services aimed at reducing harm related to drug use, to help with housing and employment, to detox and drug free rehab services, settlement and aftercare support. This is an exciting time to join MQI which currently is based in 19 locations, across 12 counties in Ireland and which has ambitions to increase its scale and presence nationwide.

We are seeking to supplement our Audit and Risk Committee with individuals who share our values and mission and have a background in accounting or financial audit.  The Committee meets approximately 6 times per annum, usually via Teams.
