HR & Operations Committee Member
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our HR & Operations Subcommittee in an advisory capacity.
This role is suited to someone who wants to apply senior HR or operational expertise in a practical, strategic way, without the commitment of a full Board position.
As a member of the HR & Operations Subcommittee, you will support the Board by providing independent advice, oversight, and constructive challenge on workforce and operational matters. The subcommittee is chaired by a Board member and works closely with the CEO and senior leadership team.
Key Areas of Contribution

Advising on HR strategy, workforce risks, and organisational capacity

Supporting the development of effective performance management and accountability systems

Providing oversight on operational structures, systems, and controls

Supporting the organisation through a period of stabilisation and change

Bringing practical insight from complex, people-led organisations
This is an advisory role and does not involve operational management.
Person Specification
We are seeking individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

Senior HR leadership, employment law, or organisational development

Operations management in complex or regulated environments

Workforce planning, performance management, or organisational change
-
Charity, public sector, or large people-based organisations (desirable)
You will bring:

Strong judgement and real-world HR or operational experience

The ability to challenge constructively and proportionately

A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach

A genuine interest in supporting a purpose-driven organisation
Time Commitment

One online meeting every 4–6 weeks

Preparation and review of papers in advance of meetings

Occasional ad-hoc input as required
