Fingal County Childcare Committee (FCCC) wish to expand and strengthen its voluntary Board of Directors (Trustees) by inviting new members to the board. The Director will support the effective oversight, transparency, and accountability of our organisation's operations. As a company registered with the Governance Code, FCCC is committed to continuing its governance and compliance journey and would like to attract new Directors who have previous knowledge and experience in some of the following areas;

Fingal County Childcare Committee currently support over 300 childcare providers including Childminders and Parent and Toddler Groups in the Fingal area, this in turn results in support to over 5,000 parents.

- Interest in the Early learning & care, School age childcare and Childminding
The role of the Director (Trustee) is to add to the skillset and expertise of current Directors. To formulate policies and strategies and put in place necessary company organisational structures and resources. This is necessary to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of the company's statement of work directive by our funders the Department of Children and Youth Affairs. Ongoing support to the FCCC Manager forms part of the Directors responsibilities.
Overview of Key Commitments of the Role:
FCCC is a registered charity, funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth/ Pobal. We employ 10 full time staff. Our board at this present time consists of 8 voluntary members,
- Six board of management meetings per year (bi-monthly). These meetings are usually held in the morning, although times and duration may vary according to emerging needs. Bi-monthly meetings are held face to face in our offices in Balheary Business Park, Swords, Co Dublin K67EOF8.
- Possibility of sitting on a sub-committee (additional meetings)
- Undertaking board governance and induction training
