Finance Lead (Committee Role)

AdVIC is seeking a voluntary Finance Lead to join our Committee. The role provides strategic oversight of the organisation’s finances, supporting strong financial management, governance, and compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with a bookkeeper who manages day-to-day financial administration.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who share our mission and values. Previous board or committee experience is welcome but not essential.

Time commitment: Approximately 8–10 hours per month.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee budgets, accounts, and financial statements
  • Ensure financial compliance and good governance
  • Raise and report any financial concerns to the committee
  • Liaise with external accountant/auditors during year-end reporting and the audit process 
  • Ensure implementation of audit recommendations and financial controls
  • Financial planning and reporting
  • Present quarterly financial reports to the committee
  • Present annual accounts at the AGM

Your Role Will Include: 

  • Attend quarterly committee meetings (online or in-person)
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making and organisational planning
  • Support the development of policy and governance where relevant
  • Support events such as the AGM, memorial services, and national meetings
  • Advocate for the rights and dignity of victims and their families
