Director with Finance experience

About the person

Drogheda Homeless Aid are currently seeking an individual with finance experience to join our active and engaged Board of Directors. The successful candidate will have proven knowledge and experience in financial management and accounting. They should be a good communicator and confident in disseminating financial data in a clear manner. The role offers the opportunity to learn from our current Treasurer and potentially step into that role in the future.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the Treasurer in overseeing the preparation of annual accounts and financial reports to the board for the Charities Regulator and the CR
  • Support the Treasurer and Drogheda Homeless Aid Manager in ensuring that any recommendations of the auditors are implemented.
  • Support the Treasurer in reviewing and advising on financial procedures where necessary with the support of the manager and team
  • Support the Treasurer in ensuring that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place.
  • Attend and participate in Board and Finance Subgroup meetings. Deputise for Treasurer at same

General Responsibilities of Drogheda Homeless Aid Board Members

  • Provide strategic oversight to the organisation and the Drogheda Homeless Aid management team
  • Ensure that Drogheda Homeless Aid is complying with its charitable purpose and operating for public benefit
  • Ensure that Drogheda Homeless Aid is complying with all its regulatory and legal requirements
  • Act in the best interests of the organisation
  • Operate with integrity and honesty
