The Chairperson of the Board of Management of a recognised school under the Education Act 1998, leads a Board comprised of 2 Patron/Trustee nominees (of which the Chair is one), 2 elected parent nominees, an elected teacher representative and 2 Community representatives. The term of the Board is 4 years (2023-2027).
The candidate will preferably have prior board of management experience, or equivalent (e.g. Board of Directors).
The candidate will have some experience of school leadership and/or an educational management background, with an understanding of school administration and relevant policies and procedures. Some knowledge and experience of the governance and compliance environment within which schools operate (employment law, HR, Health & Safety, financial management etc.) would be desirable.
Given this school’s particular context, an understanding of, and commitment to the ethos of special education provision would be especially welcome.
