The Baldoyle forum is a not-for-profit providing a vibrant community hub of physical and mental wellbeing activities, along with social inclusion and diversity, in a financially sustainable way. We support and promote Baldoyle and all it has to offer including the nature, wildlife and ecology within Baldoyle.
The function of the Board is to provide governance and strategy to the organisation, support the leadership, and promote the Baldoyle Forum and its activities. Serving as a board member is both a challenging and rewarding volunteer task, and it requires a commitment of time, skills and resources. The board meet in person in Baldoyle once per month.
What are the expectations for board members?
- Attend a minimum of 8 meetings in person per annum.
- Contribute and have a voice at these meetings, speak up and listen to other opinions.
- Take an action at Board meetings.
- Progress and drive actions to the best conclusion for the Baldoyle Forum clg.
- Support and promote the Baldoyle Forum’s events and activities.
- Sit on a sub-committee (finance, policy etc) or take on a role on behalf of the board.
Board members are volunteers and receive no financial reward for sitting on the board. Baldoyle Forum Clg relies heavily on the time and commitment freely given by volunteers and without this the opportunities for people in the community to participate in activities may not exist.
The Baldoyle Forum strives to create a board that matches the diversity of the work we do and we strive to recruit volunteer board members with a diverse skill set. We are particularly interested in hearing from people with HR, Legal, Governance and Finance skills. We would also welcome applications from neurodivergent and autistic people and people with intellectual disabilities.
