St Michael’s House – Legal expert for Ballymun Special National School.
St. Michael’s House Group are seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals for the role of Voluntary Chairperson of the Board of Management in our Ballymun Special National School.
St. Michael’s House is one of the largest providers of supports and services to children and adults with disabilities in the greater Dublin area. The organisation is non-denominational, and this is reflected in the ethos of our schools. Currently St. Michael’s House acts as Patron of 6 schools.
The Governance structures for Special National Schools are, as for all National Schools, set out in the Department of Education and Skills Governance Manual for Primary Schools 2023 – 2027. The Board of Management manages the school on behalf of the Patron, is the employer of all school staff, and has overall responsibility for School Policies. Each Board has 8 members representing the Patron, Teachers, Parents and the Community. The Chairperson in collaboration with the principal provides the oversight and direction to the School and Chairs the regular Board of Management meetings.
The ideal candidate for this role will come from a legal background and will have excellent communication and collaborative skills, and be capable of building strong relationships to help assist achieving the long- term objectives of the school. St. Michael’s House offers support and training to successful candidates.
