Due to good governance Clare CCC are recruiting for new Board members.
The Board of Clare County Childcare Committee (Clare CCC) is seeking individuals to join our Board. Clare CCC are looking for people with a background in human resources, risk change management, and/or finance management.
If you have experience in any of these areas and want to play a key role in helping us, we are keen to hear from you.
Our Services
CCCs play a vital role in the local delivery of the national early education and childcare programmes and contribute to the implementation of Government policy.
Clare CCC is funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY). CCCs are a key stakeholder in supporting the childcare sector to deliver quality, accessible and affordable ELC and SAC services.
The role of Clare CCC is to:
In a consistent manner, act as the local agent of DCEDIY in the coordination and delivery of the national early education and childcare programmes and the implementation of Government policy at a local level
Facilitate and support the development of quality, accessible Early Learning and Care (ELC), School Aged Childcare (SAC) and Childminding services for the overall benefit of children and their parents.
Provide support and guidance to local ELC, SAC and Childminding service providers and parents in relation to the national childcare programmes and support the delivery of quality early learning and childcare in accordance with national frameworks and policy objectives.
Facilitate the development of ELC, SAC and Childminding in a strategic and coordinated manner.
Provide information and support to parents in relation to the provision of ELC, SAC and Childminding services within their CCC area.

The Board recruits’ members who collectively provide a mix of skills, experience, qualities, and knowledge appropriate to the organisation and its beneficiaries’ needs, so that the organisation can respond to the challenges and opportunities it faces. The Board aims to have a diverse membership and is open to and includes membership from all its stakeholder groups.
Overview of Key Commitments of the Role:
- Six board of management meetings per year. These meetings are usually held in the afternoons, although times and duration may vary according to emerging needs. At present, these meetings are held face to face in our offices 1 Kilrush Road, Ennis, Co Clare V95CXP1.
- Possibility of sitting on a sub-committee (additional meetings)
- Undertaking board governance and induction training
