About SOSAD Ireland:

SOSAD (Save Our Sons and Daughters) Ireland is a leading charity dedicated to providing essential mental health support services. SOSAD Ireland has six offices across the North East and Midlands, also offering a nationwide service through remote counselling and our freephone helpline and messaging service. We are currently seeking enthusiastic, professional, and visionary individuals to join our Board of Directors.

As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in guiding SOSAD Ireland through its next phase of growth, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality services and support to those in need. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your skills and expertise to an organisation that makes a tangible impact on mental health and wellbeing in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance: Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the effective management and growth of SOSAD.
  • Advocacy: Champion SOSAD’s mission and values within the community and among stakeholders.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor and support financial health, including budgeting and fundraising efforts.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate on developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance SOSAD’s services and impact.
  • Networking: Leverage personal and professional networks to foster relationships and attract support for SOSAD’s mission.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

Note: Candidates will be considered on merit based on knowledge and experience in their respective field(s)

  • A strong commitment to mental health and community wellbeing.
  • Experience in leadership roles within non-profit organisations, corporate sectors, or public institutions.
  • Expertise in areas such as finance, governance, fundraising, or mental health services. HR.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative approach to decision-making and problem-solving.
