Board of Management, Shalom Nursing Home, Kilcock, Co Kildare

The Board of Management will have up to eight members.  The members, none of whom are employed by Shalom Nursing Home, serve in a voluntary capacity.

  • The Board assumes a supervisory role in the running of the Nursing Home.
  • The Board remains accountable to the Trustees
  • The Board will employ those who work for the Nursing Home
  • Board Members are committed to providing the highest possible standard of care for the residents of the Nursing Home.

The following issues are reserved for the Board.

  • Management performance
  • Preparation of Annual Report for presentation to the Trustees each October
  • The appointment and appraisal of the Director of Services in conjunction with the Trustees

A board member is expected to

  • Attend meetings on a regular basis and be well prepared
  • Contribute to decision-making and share responsibility for the Board's decisions
  • Attend training events and keep up to date
  • Contribute to the work of the committees established by the Board
  • Represent the Board at meetings and events when required
