Teach Tearmainn are seeking Directors to join our voluntary Board of Directors.
Teach Tearmainn is a non-profit organisation, with charitable status, serving women and children who are/have experienced domestic abuse. We involve and seek the input of the women and children we serve, the community and our stakeholders at all times.
Teach Tearmainn is the only specialised dedicated service working to address the issue of domestic abuse in County Kildare. Teach Tearmainn was established in 1999. Our range of support services has develped and expanded since this time. Our purpose-built state of the art women and children's refuge was opened in 2014. We provide the following services;
Refuge - emergency accomodation for women and children who are fleeing domestic abuse;
Helpline - support offered via telephone;
Information & Support Service - one to one support provided to women who have/are experiecing abuse perpetrated by an intimate partmer;
Children & Young Person's Support Service - one to one supports provided to children and young people who have experienced/witnessed domestic abuse;
Court Accompaniment Support - accomany women to the court and provide support as women navigate the family law system;
Outreach Service - one to one support service offered in the communities accross Kildare County;
